PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient information and terms

Prepared 22 October 2026

Appointments and access

Our London clinic is at 10 Harley Street, London W1G 9PF. Visits are by appointment only; we do not accept walk-ins. Tell us about mobility, communication or access requirements before booking so we can confirm suitable arrangements. Bring relevant reports, existing orthoses and the footwear you normally use.

Fees and quotations

Standard London fees are £199 for assessment, £99 for casting if required, £99 for fitting and £99 for review. Casting is carried out on the assessment day, with the additional charge explained beforehand. Device costs are quoted separately.

Your quotation is valid for seven days. Accepting it authorises us to proceed with the agreed manufacture or order. We contact you to arrange fitting once your orthosis is ready and has been checked. If you decline, we do not proceed and charge for the assessment and any other agreed services already provided.

Custom devices and cancellation

Devices made to your specification or individually adapted are not returnable simply because you change your mind. If you cancel after acceptance, charges may apply for work already undertaken and costs committed. A completed custom device may be chargeable in full. We explain the position for your order.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected. These terms do not remove rights concerning faulty goods, goods that do not match their description or services not provided with reasonable care and skill. Contact us promptly about a problem with fit, function or quality so it can be assessed.

Payment

Invoices are payable within 14 days of supply, subject to any different arrangement expressly agreed in writing. Read the terms included with your individual quotation and ask about anything unclear before acceptance.

Changing a booking

Please contact us as early as possible if you need to change an appointment. The standard London cancellation arrangements are set out on our fees page. For appointments booked through VIM Health, confirm its appointment fees and cancellation arrangements directly with VIM.

After fitting

Follow the individual instructions given with your orthosis, including wear, skin checks, footwear, maintenance and review. Contact us about discomfort, damage or a change in your needs. Photographs and patient experiences on this website illustrate individual examples and do not guarantee the same outcome.

Feedback and complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of your care, contact Zishan Akhtar at info@orthotic-consultants.com or call 0203 7459 616. Please tell us what happened, relevant appointment dates and what you would like us to consider. We will review the concern, explain the next steps and keep you informed. You may ask an authorised representative to contact us for you.

For concerns about professional conduct, the Health and Care Professions Council explains when it can consider a concern. For data-protection concerns, you can contact the ICO. These bodies have different roles from resolving a routine billing or service complaint.

Website information and accessibility

The website provides general information and does not replace an individual clinical assessment. If you have difficulty reading a page or using a form, contact us and we will discuss another way to provide the information or arrange an appointment. We do not claim that every part of the website has been independently certified for accessibility.
