Custom insoles in London
Orthotic insoles prescribed around your feet, footwear and daily life.

Designed around your needs.
We assess your feet, walking and footwear to understand where support or accommodation may be useful. Your prescription considers the shape of your feet, your activities and the shoes you need to wear.
Materials and construction are selected individually. Where required, we take a cast, scan or measurements before manufacture. At fitting, we check the insoles in your footwear and explain how to build up wear.
Foot conditions we assess
These are some of the reasons people come to us. Your symptoms, movement and goals determine whether this type of orthosis is appropriate.
- Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
- Morton’s neuroma and metatarsalgia
- Foot and ankle osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis and painful changes in foot shape
- Symptomatic flat feet, high arches and tendon problems
- Post-fracture or post-surgical needs
- Pressure redistribution and offloading
Insoles that work with your feet and your shoes
A useful insole needs to do more than follow the shape of your arch. It needs to provide the support or cushioning you need, fit your footwear and feel manageable throughout your day. We look at where you have discomfort, how you stand and walk, and what you need your shoes to do.
Custom functional insoles
These use a shaped base to guide support under the foot. The prescription can include changes to the heel, arch or forefoot. A firm supporting shell can be combined with a soft top cover, so support does not have to mean a hard surface against your foot.
Cushioning and pressure redistribution
For sensitive feet or prominent areas, the priority may be to accommodate your foot shape and spread loading. Different layers, local recesses and padding can be combined. We pay particular attention to skin condition and available shoe space.
Full-length or shorter designs
A full-length insole extends towards the toes. A shorter design leaves more room at the front of the shoe. The choice depends on where support is needed, the space available and whether your footwear has a removable lining.
Which material is right for you?
EVA foam comes in different densities and can combine cushioning with firmer support. Thermoplastic shells, including polypropylene, provide a shaped base whose flexibility depends on its thickness and design. Carbon-fibre composites can provide a slim, stiff structure where the prescription calls for it.
Top covers, heel cushioning, wedges and forefoot additions are selected separately. We explain why we recommend a particular combination and check it in the shoes you plan to wear.
Already have insoles that are not working for you?
Bring them along. We can assess their fit, condition and suitability, and discuss whether adjustment or replacement is the better next step. Bring your everyday shoes and any work or sports footwear you want us to consider.
A clear recommendation before you commit
After assessment, you receive an orthotic report and an itemised quotation. We explain the proposed device, fitting and any practical requirements, so you can decide whether to proceed.
EXAMPLES FROM OUR WORK
Different feet. Different designs.
These examples show how the length, shaped base and cover layers can vary. We choose the combination around your feet, the support required and the space in your shoes.

Questions about custom insoles
What does a private insole assessment involve?
At our Harley Street clinic, we discuss your symptoms and activities, examine your feet and assess your walking and footwear. We explain whether insoles may be appropriate and which options suit your needs. Read about your orthotic assessment.
Do I need custom insoles?
Not everyone needs a custom device. Your assessment helps us decide whether a ready-made insole, custom prescription or another approach is appropriate. We explain our recommendation before you decide whether to proceed.
How much do custom insoles cost?
The initial assessment is £199 and includes a clinical report and quotation. Insoles are priced separately according to the prescription. We set out the device cost and any casting, fitting or review charges in your quotation. View appointment fees.
Which shoes should I bring?
Bring the shoes you normally wear, including any work or exercise footwear you want to use with your insoles. Please also bring existing insoles, even if you no longer wear them. We assess the space and fit available in your shoes before recommending a design.
Will my insoles be ready at the first appointment?
Custom insoles are manufactured after you accept the quotation. We explain the expected timescale and arrange a fitting appointment when they are ready.
Your assessment and fitting
Bring the shoes you use most often, any existing insoles and relevant reports. We will explain your options and provide an itemised quotation before you decide whether to proceed.
You do not need to choose a device before your appointment. We assess your needs, explain the options and recommend a prescription. If you already have an orthosis that is not working for you, bring it so we can review it together.
Clear fees. Time to decide.
Your London assessment costs £199 and includes an orthotic report and itemised quotation. The device is quoted separately. Fitting costs £99 and a review appointment costs £99.
If casting is needed, it is carried out at the assessment appointment for an additional £99. We explain this charge before proceeding. Manufacture or ordering starts once you accept the quotation.
